Yoga + Writing at The Springs

June 2-5 | The Springs, Oldenburg, IN

After months of dreaming and conversations over coffee, we [Maeve and Rachel] are thrilled to offer this special retreat for women! Given our shared vision and passion for:

gathering women [especially around a table]

hearing, writing and telling stories [‘cause we believe everyone has a story]

nourishing the body, mind, and soul [especially through yoga, writing, and cooking]

it made perfect sense to team up and offer this together.  We will rest and retreat about forty minutes west of Cincinnati at The Springs, a gorgeous refuge in the woods of Indiana. You can look forward to time and space for creativity, play, meditation/prayer, and exploring the beauty around you and within you.

Rachel is a certified yoga instructor and an integrative health coach.  She believes we are created to use our whole being [body, mind, and spirit] joyfully and freely. She delights in guiding women into a more peaceful relationship with their body. When not coaching or teaching, you can find Rachel on a dirt trail in the Appalachian foothills, in the kitchen testing recipes with her husband Jeff, or in her favorite coffee shop with a friend.

Q & A

what if I love the idea of writing but am afraid of/not a fan of yoga?

No worries! You can opt out of the yoga if you’d like. This is your retreat. But you may be pleasantly surprised if you give it a try!  Yoga is not a competitive activity – it is simply a practice and it looks different for every person. We will offer modifications in the class, so you can always take it at your own pace and rest when you need.

what if I love yoga but don’t really consider myself a writer?

That’s okay! This retreat is still for you. Consider the writing sessions an opportunity to pay a little attention to your spirit, nourish your unique voice, and inspire your creativity. Worse case scenario? You skip the writing session and take a walk in the beautiful trails!

is this a Christian or religious retreat?

The Springs is a Christian Retreat Center, so you’ll encounter biblical scripture and Christian decorations around the space. Maeve and Rachel are committed to making this retreat open to persons of all faiths, but will be seasoning the sessions with their Christian faith tradition.

how do I get there?

The Springs is located at 8137 Davison Road, Oldenburg, IN 47036. Cell service and data use are unreliable when you get close to the retreat center, so please print out directions ahead of time. [I know, it’s SO old school, but we just don’t want you to get lost!]
